Clinical Assessments


When a substance use disorder has been identified, the next step is treatment planning and making placement determinations. The ASAM PPC-2R requires that a substance use related diagnosis be met for any addiction treatment and that a diagnosis of dependence for at least one substance be determined for a residential treatment placement.

These are the only comprehensive assessment instruments fully and completely compatible with the ASAM PPC-2R that were developed in conjunction with Dr. David Mee-Lee and Gerald Shulman, editors of these placement criteria.
