Best friends

So, I made a list of my 10 best friends.

What do they all have in common?

I came up with three personal traits:

1.  All my friends are curious people. They search for answers to questions I’m only thinking about. Their curiosity leads to wisdom and unique points of view. Many people get smarter based on what they read in books or watch on television. Most of my wisdom comes from listening to my best friends.

2.  All my friends speak from the heart. I never worry about getting a bunch of generic fluff. My friends have passionate sweet spots that define who they are deep inside. I may not always agree with their core beliefs, but I never question their sincerity.

3. All my friends have a sense of humor. They laugh often, especially at my expense. It’s okay, because I typically earn it. And the next time, they will bear the brunt of their own joke and laugh even louder.

The antidote to loneliness is friendship.

I may be many things, but I’m rarely lonely.
