I hope

I hope for all kinds of things for myself and for others. I hope to be able to take my mask off when I’m talking to a friend. I hope my grandsons find their way into adulthood without any major slip-ups (don’t follow your grandpa’s example). I hope there is less political division in our country. I hope to get a chocolate milkshake later today.

As I age, I think I’m getting better at hoping for stuff that is actually in my or others’ best interest. In my younger days, I often hoped for things that provided a little instant gratification but caused me issues in the long run. Or, I hoped something bad would befall those individuals who were giving me a tough time (no need to go into specific examples).

I’m interested to hear what your greatest hope might be going into 2021. Send me a few words to describe it.

Be honest. I promise I won’t tell on you.
