I need a little boost, so I’m proposing an impromptu writing exercise.
Prizes of $500, $250 and $100 will be offered for the three best short and wise stories about how you got back on the horse. You know what I’m talking about: describe a time when things weren’t going well, and you were down for a period but found a way to get back up. Write your story in 250 words or less, explaining what you did and how you did it.
You don’t need to read any small print, just allow me to share your story with our Mindful Midweek audience. If you request, I won’t use your name or any detail that discloses your identity. However, you need to move quickly to be in the running. I must receive your emailed story by this Friday, March 14, at noon, Pacific time.
Your submission will be graded by me alone, and I’m a sucker for simplicity. That’s a hint.
I think there are a lot of us out there who could use a short, honest story about resilience, determination and true grit. Your submission may inspire thousands of people out there to mount up again.
I can’t wait to read it.
