Protein is an important part of a healthy diet, but too much protein from some sources can be less than healthy. Try to mix up your diet by including more protein from plants. Beans and peas, nuts and seeds are all good sources of protein. These foods are naturally high in fiber and low in saturated fat. For example, try making a black bean or veggie burger instead of a hamburger. Or, consider eating a different protein, like tempeh or seitan.
This week, I will think about adding variety to the protein I eat.
