There is some evidence that weight lifting, even for short periods of time, may improve memory. A recent study showed gains in long-term memory with as little as 20 minutes of weight lifting. This is in addition to what we already know about weight lifting being great for building muscle and its ability to help reduce stress. Remembering to lift weights may help you to remember other things a bit more, too.
This week, I will consider the health benefits of even brief periods of weight lifting.
