Too much focus on strength and ability alone can limit the overall benefits of exercise. Often, the strenuous task at hand causes us to lose sight of a vital part of exercise–the breath. A simple and invigorating way to bring attention back to the pleasurable flow of exercise is to focus on the breath–only the breath. For the breath is always with us and a tender reminder of the gift of life. Focus on what you have, not what holds you back.
This week, while I exercise, I will take moments to focus only on my breath.
