Sit down. Eat food.

Digestion is one of the most vital but taxingly complicated processes the body performs. Unfortunately, for all its cunning, the GI tract is not a very good multitasker. So it needs all the help it can get. Set aside actual time for eating. Calm yourself, sit down and clear the table: no magazines, no bills, no smartphones. Simply take the moment to just be, mindfully experience the food and humbly give gratitude for its nourishment.

This week, I will consider making the effort to just enjoy a meal for itself. No distractions.
