Researchers are showing us that our brains work similarly to other muscles in the body. So our thoughts and habits act as a type of exercise. This applies to stress, too. Stress and other negative thoughts train your mind just like physical conditioning trains the body. Understanding this offers us a simple solution: re-train the mind. 3:1 seems to be the golden ratio. For every negative thought you have, replace it with three positive thoughts.
This week, I will practice countering my stressful thoughts with three pleasant ones.
