Cold, dark winter days are over; ditch the treadmill and take your workout into the sun. A time-efficient, effective and playful way to do this is by introducing speed intervals into your running workouts. Using objects in your physical environment, increase your speed and intensity between two lampposts or sprint to the next fire hydrant. Return to your steady pace until you've recovered, and then play it again.
