Too often we exercise the body and our muscles in isolation. Finding ways to incorporate the mind into a workout can invite a number of benefits. Doing this can be as simple as taking five to ten minutes before and after a workout to reconnect the mind to the body. Do some yoga poses or simply practice some slow breathing while stretching. The goal is to bring the attention to those places you have just worked and listen to the body.
This week, I will take some time to add a few mindful moments to my exercise routine.
